The 35 million dollar Massanutten Indoor and Outdoor Water Park is the latest addition to Massanutten Virginia.  It is one of two family vacation water attractions located in Virginia.  The other  being located in Williamsburg, Va.

The water park  features a glass roof which lets in light as well as providing views of the outdoors.  It has water attractions both inside and outside.  Swimming always rates high in my activity list when planning a vacation.

Get everything you need for your next vacation here at great savings! Everything from skis to cycle accessories and more!

Inside the 42,000 square foot Massanutten Water Park  there are body slides, tube slides, hot tubs, Adventure River, as well as the Flow Rider which is very popular.  The Flow Rider has 50,000 gallons of water rushing at 30 mph over a 5  foot high inclined mat allowing a surfing experience on a perfect wave.

Outside the water park there is  another 80,000 square feet of water attractions.  They include among other things, a wave pool that has 3 foot waves, a four lane water slide that is about 40 feet tall and outdoor swimming area that is very family friendly.  My kids love the water park and it is a very popular spot for both kids and adults.

There are places to buy food and drink within the building as well as the Blue Ridge Buffet and the Hideaway Lounge.  They request that no outside food or drink be brought inside the facility. To save money, since the food prices are a little high, we usually pack a cooler to leave in the car and then take a break from the park for a picnic somewhere outside.  This works out very well and the kids cannot wait to go back for round two at the water park.  The park has many options in regards to purchasing passes.  There are  multi-day, day long, as well as partial day passes to choose from.

The water park also houses an arcade called Diamond Jim's overlooking the inside swimming area of the water park as well as a retail shop name MerchanDice featuring swim related items and trinkets to remember a vacation.  Sweetz candy shoppe satisify's one's craving for treats, takes advance orders for birthday cakes and offers ice cream and milkshakes.  All items are made in the shoppe.  Java Island has wonderful caffeinated and non-caffeinated pick me ups.  Snackers is available to those with paid water park admission as a fast food service option.  A party room is available for special occasions.
